Who is Jonathan Ajuma?

I am a Certified Global Peace Ambassador, interdisciplinary scholar, researcher, human rights advocate, and project management professional based in the United Kingdom. My work sits at the intersection of governance, technology adoption, public health systems, Human rights advocacy, criminal law and social justice. With over a decade of professional and research experience, I design and lead evidence-based, community-centered initiatives that promote and strengthen systems, catalyze reforms,, advance inclusive development, and promote youth and women’s empowerment.

As a Project Management Professional and applied researcher, I have developed strong expertise in strategic project planning, risk assessment, stakeholder engagement, and community-based programme implementation. My work is grounded in rigorous research and collaborative engagement, contributing to policy strengthening and institutional effectiveness while improving outcomes for vulnerable populations, including young people, the elderly, and marginalized communities.

My research interests encompass community health improvement models, technology adoption and project risk management, human-AI collaboration, global governance, and human rights law, with a sustained focus on equity, accountability, and measurable policy impact. As a Certified Global Peace Ambassador, I integrate peacebuilding and rights-based frameworks into both local and global initiatives, ensuring that development interventions are ethically grounded and socially responsive.

In the United Kingdom, I collaborate with government agencies and healthcare organisations to implement health improvement programmes and conduct evidence-based research that informs policy, particularly in areas relating to AI adoption, governance systems, and compassionate care for vulnerable populations. I also serve as a teaching assistant within alternative provision settings, supporting young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). In addition, I mentor international postgraduate students at Northumbria University and other institutions, guiding them in academic writing, research methodology, and professional development. My leadership capacity was formally recognised when I led my team to win the Overall Best Champions Award at the MIT Simulation Project Competition at Northumbria University, London.

Prior to my work in the UK, I held strategic roles in Nigeria, collaborating with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) to coordinate immunisation programmes and COVID-19 vaccination campaigns in underserved communities. I developed substantial expertise in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL), serving as Personal Assistant to the M&E Officer at the Gwer-East Local Government Area Health Authority in Benue State. I worked directly with NCDC surveillance officers between 2021 and 2022 and coordinated the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP) Enumeration Exercise. My contributions earned commendation from the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (FMHADMSD), as well as an Award of Excellence from the Benue State Commissioner for Health on behalf of the State Governor and the Benue State Primary Health Emergency Operations Center (BSPHEOC).

Currently, as Technical Advisor and Community Engagement Lead at SieDi-Hub, I have led over 25 projects focused on health systems strengthening, digital skills development, youth leadership, and community health advocacy. I have supported more than 200 women-owned SMEs through digital empowerment initiatives and facilitated the training of 20 Community Health Youth Champions to improve healthcare access in rural communities. I have also collaborated with international partners including American Corners, Boundless Hands Africa, and Empower Next Generations. Across these engagements, my work consistently advances equity, inclusion, and sustainable social impact, bridging the gap between research, policy, and practice.

I hold a Master’s degree in International Project Management from Northumbria University (UK), an M.Sc. in International Relations from the University of Nigeria, and a B.Sc. in Political Science from Akwa Ibom State University. I am an experienced public speaker and research presenter, having delivered papers at local and international conferences and workshops. Beyond academia and advocacy, I engage in creative writing and graphic design, guided by the philosophy that visual communication enhances knowledge dissemination. I am also the founder of Impact-Driven Academy (IDA), an e-learning platform dedicated to mentoring young people in leadership, communication, and digital competencies, equipping them to engage strategically and meaningfully in society.

Through the integration of applied research, institutional collaboration, mentorship, and community engagement, I advance interdisciplinary scholarship that informs policy, strengthens systems, and contributes to sustainable development at both local and international levels.
